What is an EMDR Intensive and is it right for me?

An EMDR Intensive is an accelerated treatment format that condenses the healing process into extended half-day to week-long sessions rather than traditional weekly appointments. It is appropriate for anyone who has found weekly therapy helpful but is not fully achieving their desired results. Intensives are particularly effective for processing trauma, PTSD, anxiety, and attachment wounds. Our clinicians weave multiple evidence-based approaches into the intensive format, including EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Somatics, Expressive Arts, and CBT. Please note that EMDR Intensives are not appropriate for those currently in active crisis. If you are interested, the process begins with an initial consultation to determine whether the intensive format is a good fit for your goals.

Pittsburgh Center for Integrative Therapy offers individual therapy for adults, adolescents, and children; couples therapy using Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT); group therapy; and EMDR Intensive retreats. Our specialized modalities include Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Somatic therapy, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, and the Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP). We also offer EMDRIA-approved consultation toward certification, clinical supervision toward licensure, and live and on-demand trainings for therapists. All services are provided from our office at 4075 William Penn Hwy in Murrysville, PA.

Does Pittsburgh Center for Integrative Therapy accept insurance?

Yes, Pittsburgh Center for Integrative Therapy accepts several major insurance plans including UPMC, Cigna/Evernorth, Highmark BCBS, Blue Cross Blue Shield, United/Optum, and Aetna. For clients using self-pay, the initial session rate is $200 and subsequent sessions are $150 per hour. Couples therapy is $250 per 90-minute session and is offered out-of-pocket, though superbills can be provided for possible out-of-network reimbursement. Online therapy via a HIPAA-secure video platform is also available for clients who prefer remote sessions. Our office is open Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

This training offers an integrative, trauma-informed approach to working with adolescents and adults impacted by attachment wounds, trauma, and dissociation. Drawing from evidence based models including IFS, Structural Dissociation, EMDR, somatic therapies, and expressive arts modalities, participants will learn practical, parts oriented interventions through case examples, clinical transcripts, and video demonstrations.
